Key development in EJOT UK’s Industrial Fastening Solutions team

The Industrial Fastening Solutions sales team at EJOT UK has a new look following the appointment of David Piddock as UK Sales Manager.

David, who has been working with clients across the Midlands region as an Application Engineer since 2017, steps up to manage the team alongside the highly experienced Steve Wynn, whose role will also evolve.

David has a wealth of industrial experience, having started his career in stainless steel sheet and bar stockholding and manufacturing – a sector he worked in for around 20 years – prior to transitioning into chemical and petrochemical bolting sales. Over the past eight years, he has developed strong relationships with EJOT customers throughout the Midlands, working closely with Steve and the rest of the team to develop its presence in the automotive industry in particular.

Steve Wynn will work alongside David in more of a consultative role. This will ensure he can support David as he develops in his new position as well as work with EJOT customers in all areas of the UK, across all industrial sectors, so they can continue to benefit from his expertise and more than 40 years’ experience.

David said: “The last eight years working as an application engineer have been amazing, but certainly a steep learning curve. Fortunately, I have had some great mentors who have passed down some fantastic knowledge that has enabled me to perform my role. The ethos at EJOT UK makes it feel like you are part of a family rather than simply an employee within a successful business.

Commenting on David’s appointment, Steve Wynn added: “I’m really pleased that David has taken the opportunity to step up to the role of UK Sales Manager. His customer-focused approach, combined with the technical expertise he has developed throughout his career, make him the ideal person to take the UK Industrial Division to the next level.”

David believes his experience in sales-based roles will enable him to bring a different angle to the business, particularly given the potential that EJOT UK’s newly deployed CRM system will help to unlock. He is also keen to work more closely with EJOT’s marketing team to develop strategies for promoting the Industrial Division and technical specialists at EJOT Germany.

David adds: “Over the last few years we have built a fantastic Industrial team that is more than capable of tackling our customers’ current and emerging challenges. Every single member of our team is invaluable and will contribute to the success of the division.

“Our goal is to continue to build upon our stronghold in the UK automotive market, where we have developed a loyal client base, whilst also growing our presence in non-automotive sectors – particularly in sectors where sustainability and modern manufacturing efficiencies are demanding light weighting efficiency.”

EJOT UK’s Industrial Division (MUI) provides advanced fastening solutions to a wide range of sectors including automotive, white goods manufacturing and medical equipment. Its range of fasteners for numerous different metals, plastics and composites is at the forefront of enabling manufacturers to reduce weight and increase joint strength in assemblies as well as streamline production for improved efficiency.
