For foamed thermoplastics

The EJOT CELL PT® screw is a special element for the safe and problem-free direct fastening in cellular foamed thermoplastic materials. The special thread contour was developed for cellular foamed thermoplastics and the functionality was confirmed in a comprehensive test series. In the case of blind hole screw joints, the specially formed point penetrates into the plastic material at the bottom of the blind hole, and a further increase of the torques is achieved.

Unlocking the potential of lightweight thermoplastic materials

Manufactured from through-hardened steel, the EJOT Cell PT® enables design engineers to utilise components made of thermoplastics to achieve weight and cost savings. Until its development, the existing fastening elements for thermoplastic components did not provide the desired fastening safety. EJOT Cell PT® overcomes this with a special thread contour achieved through a specially formed thread point, combined with a sophisticated flank angle and radius combination in the threaded area. This contour allows for thread coining by elastic/plastic deformation inside the plastic boss with damage to this material. And the radial stress in the core hole is absorbed by the cellular boss wall, preserving the dense outer layer.
